Ayūb Ṣabrī Pasha, an Ottoman scholar and official, recorded his detailed observations during a late-life journey to Mecca. At the order of Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh Qājār, Mīrzā ʿAbd al-Rasūl Munshī translated the original Ottoman Turkish text into Persian.
