【Summary】
Mawlānā Muʾmin Ḥusayn Yazdī is regarded as one of the leading rubāʿī composers of the Safavid era. The poetic material preserved in surviving miscellanies and anthologies attributed to him consists almost entirely of quatrains, except for a limited number of ghazals and short poems.
Much like figures such as ʿUmar Khayyām, Awḥadī Kirmānī, and Bābā Afḍal, Muʾmin Yazdī appears to have favored the concise and philosophically charged form of the rubāʿī as his principal mode of poetic expression. This volume offers a carefully edited collection of his extant quatrains, complemented by a small selection of other poetic forms, providing valuable insight into Safavid-era aesthetics and intellectual sensibilities.
