A comprehensive critical edition of the literary works of Fatḥ Allāh Khān Shaybānī, a prominent poet of the second phase of the Persian literary revival and an early intellectual figure of Iran’s Constitutional Movement.
Abū Naṣr Fatḥ Allāh Khān Shaybānī (1241–1308 A.H.) was a major poet of the second phase of the Bāzgasht-i Adabī (Persian Literary Revival) and is regarded as one of the pioneering literary figures associated with the Iranian Constitutional Movement. His writings reflect both classical mastery and a growing engagement with the political and intellectual transformations of his time.
This two-volume critical edition brings together all extant works of Shaybānī, including his Dīvān of poetry, three prose treatises, the narrative poem Manẓūmah-yi Fatḥ va Ẓafar, Zubdat al-Āthār, Fawākih al-Siḥr, and Bayānāt-i Shaybānī. The editor has carefully established the texts based on available sources, accompanied by a substantial introduction that reconstructs the poet’s life and intellectual outlook through his writings and contemporary biographical anthologies (tadhkirahs).
