【Summary】
Akhbār Wulāt Khurāsān is a reconstructed historical work originally composed in Arabic during the 3rd–4th centuries A.H. by members of the Sallāmī family. Although no complete manuscript of the original text has survived, extensive quotations and references preserved in later historical sources attest to its importance as one of the earliest examples of local historiography in the Islamic world.
The present edition brings together these scattered reports in order to reconstruct, as far as possible, the content, structure, and historiographical approach of the lost work. The book provides valuable insight into the political administration of Khurāsān, the succession of its governors, and the early development of regional historical writing in Iran under Islamic rule.
