【Summary】
Al-Talwīḥāt al-lawḥiyyah wa al-ʿarshiyyah is one of the most important works of the Illuminationist philosopher Shihāb al-Dīn Suhrawardī. Ibn Kammūnah, a contemporary of Naṣīr al-Dīn Ṭūsī, was the first scholar to write a full commentary on this text.
In his commentary, Ibn Kammūnah uses the philosophical knowledge of his time and other works by Suhrawardī to clarify difficult passages. The work helps readers better understand both Illuminationist philosophy and Avicenna’s ideas found in al-Shifāʾ and al-Ishārāt.
The commentary consists of 3 volumes. This volume is the first and focuses mainly on logic.
