【Summary】

Kharīdat al-Qasr wa Jarīdat al-ʿAsr is one of the most important biographical anthologies of Arabic poets from the Islamic world. Composed by ʿImād al-Dīn al-Iṣfahānī—an eminent scholar, poet, and historian of the 12th century—it is divided into ten sections covering poets from Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Hijaz, Yemen, Egypt, North Africa, and al-Andalus.
The present edition contains the section on the poets of Isfahan, offering concise biographies of poets active between the years 500 and 572 A.H. In addition to documenting the literary culture of the period, the work preserves valuable historical information on the intellectual life of Khurāsān and Herat.
