Muḥammad Muʾmin Tafrishī (1080–1170 A.H.), widely known as Āqā Muʾmin and using the pen name Dāʿī, was a prominent mystic, thinker, and poet from Tafresh in central Iran. Born in the Fahm quarter of Tafresh, he belonged to a distinguished family of sayyids whose lineage traced back to Imam Muḥammad al-Bāqir. His tomb is located today in the National Garden of Tafresh.
Āqā Muʾmin’s poetry—particularly his qasidas and masnavis—is distinguished by its elegance, coherence, and thematic refinement, demonstrating his mastery of classical poetic forms and his exceptional ability to articulate subtle and resonant meanings.
The present volume offers a critical collection of his poetic works, compiled on the basis of eleven manuscript sources and seven supplementary references. Notably, three of the manuscripts employed in this edition have not previously been used in any scholarly study of Tafrishī’s poetry. This edition therefore, represents a significant contribution to the study of Persian mystical and regional literary traditions of the Safavid and post-Safavid periods.
