【Summary】

Mīr Taqī al-Dīn Muḥammad b. Sharaf al-Dīn ʿAlī Ḥusaynī Kāshānī, known as Mīr Tadhkira and using the pen name Zikrī, was a prominent poet and writer of the Safavid period. His monumental work Khulāṣat al-Ashʿār wa Zubdat al-Afkār represents the culmination of more than forty years of scholarly labor (c. 975–1016 A.H.) and contains biographical notices and selected poems of nearly 870 Persian poets, ranging from early masters to his contemporaries.

The concluding section (khātima) of the work is divided into twelve regional chapters, each devoted to poet’s contemporary with the author. Together, these chapters document over four hundred poets and constitute one of the most valuable sources for the study of late Safavid Persian literary culture.

The present volume corresponds to the tenth chapter of the concluding section and covers poets from Hamadan, along with three appended sections devoted to Baghdad, Jarbadqān, and Khwānsār and their surrounding regions. These sections contain respectively 16, 8, 10, and 12 entries, offering detailed insight into the regional literary networks of western and central Iran during the Safavid era.
