【Summary】
The Ḥamūʾī family represents one of the most remarkable lineages in the intellectual and political history of Iran and the Islamic world. From the third to the twelfth centuries A.H., successive generations of this family were active in diverse fields such as Sufism, jurisprudence, politics, medicine, astronomy, and related disciplines, and many of its members ranked among the leading figures of their respective eras.
The influence of the Ḥamūʾīs extended not only across a long chronological span but also over a wide geographical area, encompassing Khurāsān, Syria, Egypt, Yazd, and Ardakān. This book introduces approximately sixty members of the family, reconstructs their genealogy, and examines their contributions to scientific, religious, cultural, and political life. By combining prosopographical analysis with historical documentation, the work offers a foundational reference for the study of elite families and networks in medieval Islamic history.
