【Summary】
Rawḍat al-Anvār is a mas̱navī poem of mystical, ethical, and social character composed by Khājū-yi Kirmānī, one of the major Persian poets of the 8th century A.H. The work is written in the baḥr-i sarīʿ meter and consciously modeled on Niẓāmī’s Makhzan al-Asrār.
The poem consists of a series of thematic sections, each devoted to a specific moral or spiritual topic and illustrated through narrative anecdotes. Khājū composed this work as a counterpart to Makhzan al-Asrār, occasionally echoing Niẓāmī’s imagery and expressions. At the same time, the poem plays an important role in the development of Persian poetic language and contributes to a clearer understanding of the stylistic path leading to Ḥāfiẓ.
Among Khājū’s other notable works are his Khamsa (Five Mas̱navīs), Gol va Nowrūz, Kamāl-nāmah, Gowhar-nāmah, and Sirājīyah.
