【Summary】
Rashīd al-Dīn Faḍl Allāh Hamadānī was a leading physician, scholar, and historian during the reigns of Ghāzān Khān and Öljaitü. Although this section of the Jāmiʿ al-Tavārīkh was not written directly by him, it was prepared by a team of scholars and translators working under his supervision. Commissioned by Öljaitü, the Jāmiʿ al-Tavārīkh was completed as a universal history after decades of effort.
This volume focuses on the history of the Oghuz Turks and represents an early Persian attempt to record the origins, genealogy, and historical role of Oghuz tribes. Alongside political history, the work reflects Rashīd al-Dīn’s broader scholarly interests in religion, medicine, and governance.
