Screening of the Movie “The Seeker of Orient” and a lecture by Dr. Ehsan Shari’ati @Meiji University

The movie screening and lecture hosted by the Meiji University Faculty of Letters, Department of Philosophy (Meiji Institute of Philosophies, MIPs) will be held on Saturday, June 29th at the Izumi Campus of Meiji University, in Room L9 on the 3rd floor of the Liaison Building.

  • Title: “The Seeker of Orient (Mustashriq)”
  • Language: Persian and French (with English subtitles)
  • Content: A documentary about the French philosopher Henry Corbin, who was the first to translate Heidegger’s works into French and interpret Islamic thought based on Heidegger’s philosophy.

Lecture: 15:15 – 16:30

  • Lecturer: Dr. Ehsan Shari’ati (Philosophy professor at the French School in Tehran (L’EFT))
  • Lecture Theme: “Henry Corbin’s Reading of Heidegger’s Philosophy” (“La réception de M. Heidegger par Henry Corbin “)
